How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Register you for Kāula Tree events
• Send event confirmations, reminders, and logistical updates
• Communicate important information related to events you have signed up for
• Respond to inquiries or requests

Within the God Speaks. app, we use your information to:

• Transcribe audio recordings using AI speech-to-text services (OpenAI Whisper)
• Format, analyze, and generate insights from your transcribed words using AI language models (Anthropic Claude)
• Store your words, analysis, and insights locally on your device
• Manage your subscription and word credits

How Your Data Is Processed

When you record or upload audio in the God Speaks. app, your audio and transcribed text are sent to our secure server for processing. We use the following third-party AI services:

• OpenAI — for audio transcription (Whisper). Audio data is sent to OpenAI's API for transcription and is subject to OpenAI's API data usage policies.
• Anthropic — for text formatting, analysis, and insight generation (Claude). Transcribed text is sent to Anthropic's API and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.

Neither OpenAI nor Anthropic use data submitted through their APIs to train their models. Your recordings and words are processed for the sole purpose of providing the app's features and are not used for any other purpose.

Data Storage

Your words, analysis, profile information, and insights are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We do not store your personal content on our servers. Audio and text are transmitted to our server only during active processing and are not retained after processing is complete.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Payment information is handled entirely by these platforms and is never collected or stored by Kāula Tree. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives only anonymous identifiers — not your name, email, or payment details.

Text Message Communications

If you provide your phone number and opt in, you agree to receive informational and reminder text messages from Kāula Tree related to events you register for.

Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of attending an event or making a donation.

Information Sharing

• Anthropic (text analysis)

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. While no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to safeguard your personal information.

Your Choices

You may:

• Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP
• Delete any or all of your words and data within the God Speaks. app at any time
• Delete the app to remove all locally stored data from your device
• Request access to or correction of your personal information
• Request that we delete your information, subject to legal or operational requirements

Children's Privacy

The God Speaks. app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
